10 Armenian IT companies took part in the second annual Regional Information Technology Event, which took place on October 29-30, 2009 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The participation of Armenian companies was organized by Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) and supported by USAID/CAPS.
The motto of the event was “Partnerships for Innovation and Competitiveness”. The major objective was to establish and promote effective partnerships among the public and the private sectors, associations and other IT&T industry related organizations in the Central and East Europe, Baltic States, Caucasus and Middle Asia region to promote innovation and competitiveness. The organizers of the event were ICT Business Council of Georgia and the State Commission of E-Governance Development of Georgia.
The event consisted from 2 sessions. The GITI conference, with the purpose to describe the significance of information technology in terms of creating an engine of growth for socio-economic development of the Region and an award which aimed at crediting governmental and private entities for good work and encourage them and others to invest their time and energy in further development of the IT industry.
The participation in the Regional Information Technology Event was of course an excellent practice for our company and a launching pad for the future achievements.
