#1: Make it painfully obvious what’s clickable.

It seems so simple, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, far too often we see websites where links get lost because they aren’t underlined or they’re too light of a color.

If your website visitors have to think about how to navigate through your website, you’re losing opportunities.

So: Underline or bold or darken your links. Create buttons that pop. Make sure that everything on your site that’s clickable is obviously clickable.

#2: Tell your website visitors what you want them to do.

When people visit your website, you want them to do something: Request a quote. Make a purchase. Subscribe to your newsletter. Visit an important page.

Even if it seems obvious what you want them to do, be sure to tell them.

Go through each web page in your site and identify which ones are “dead ends”—pages that don’t include a clear call to action. Add in text or buttons that highlight what you’d like people to do next, especially at the end of each page.

Bonus tip! If you include a reason as to why people should take action, it’s proven you’ll increase the likelihood they’ll actually take that action. (Go figure!) Here are several examples: “Complete this conversation request form and you’ll be taking the first step towards a profitable website.” “Sign up for our blog to receive free tips on how to make your site more effective.”

#3: Make it crystal clear what your business does, particularly on your home page.

This is especially important if your business name isn’t overly descriptive. If people arrive on your website and they haven’t heard of your business before, briefly explain what you do. You can do this through your tagline. Or your main headline. Or even a brief description in the upper right corner of your page.

If people land on your site and they aren’t instantly clear on what you have to offer or how you can help them, they’ll leave for another business. You only have a few seconds to engage visitors. Make the best of those few seconds!

#4: Clearly describe your geographic reach.

We’re always surprised when we come across local business websites that don’t specify the geographic areas they serve.

Clearly sharing your geographic reach can make a positive impact on your search rankings, particularly if you depend on local search results for web traffic. But even more important, if you have website visitors who are researching their options, you’re making it very easy for them to know whether you’re a good geographic match. You aren’t eliminating potential prospects because they can’t determine what areas you serve—and thus leave your site for good.

#5: Make it very easy for people to contact your business.

In other words, take away any barriers that might prevent potential customers from reaching out to you. You want contacting you to be as easy as possible. Here are a few examples of the types of tweaks you can make to your website so your company even easier to contact:

  • Include your phone number in the upper portion of all pages in your site.
  • Make the link to your “Contact” page a clear element in your top navigation.
  • Add your phone number, email address and/or physical address to your footer.
  • Incorporate a simple contact form. (Want an easy online form builder? Check out Wufoo.)
  • Make your email address clickable and large enough to see.

Gyumri technology center was founded as a result of cooperation between the Armenian government, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, and the World Bank. After investment of AMD 700 million and preliminary works of 6 years the technopark opened its doors in front of IT enterprises. The technological center will provide information and incubator services to the startups to promote their production and help with exporting it abroad. Around 300 experts will be trained at the center which has 60 employees and 100 students at the moment. The center will have not only an educational, but also a scientific and research center, where locl and international authoritative organizations will extend activity. e-Works became one of the first organizations with a sustainable and functional branch established in Gyumri (Photos see below).

This strong movement aims to change the atmosphere in the city and create a productive incubator for start-ups and young companies. It will use the city’s creativity and technical skills to make the city competitive in the modern business market and transform it to the second technocity after Yerevan.

So why do some business’s email newsletters get opened at astronomically higher rates than those of other businesses?

It often has to do with the email newsletters’ subject lines.

The Nielsen Norman Group has conducted research on this subject and offers simple tips about email subject lines you can implement immediately to begin improving the open rates of your email newsletters.

Micro-Tip #1: Be crystal clear + simple

Many marketing professionals think that making their subject lines somewhat vague or generic will entice recipients to open their emails.

In fact, research shows that the exact opposite is true.

So, quite simply: be clear, straightforward and specific.
For example, the Word of the Day emails from WhatIS.com—which have exceptionally high open rates—provide the word of the day right in the subject line, like this:

Word of the Day: COPE

Recipients know what they’re getting. Straightforward, obvious, crystal clear.

Micro-Tip #2: Don’t be vain, exclude your name

You have a limited amount of space for your emails’ subject lines—about ~40 characters—that will be displayed in your recipients’ email inbox views.

Because of such incredibly limited real estate, if you already have your company name in the sender information, don’t repeat it in the subject line.

For example, let’s say your business is XYZ Company. If your business’s name is already displayed in the “From” line, don’t have your subject line read:

XYZ Company | Funny Video of Cat

Instead, omit your company name:

Cat Chases Fly Around Room

The second option is more descriptive, interesting, and you’re not wasting valuable real estate with your company name, which is information that’s already displayed in the “From” line.

Micro-Tip #3: Skip the special characters

We’ve seen it.

And it’s usually not pretty.

We’ve seen businesses (and even our own clients) trying to add emphasis or interest to their emails’ subject lines by using special characters. (Think stars or, even worse, hearts.)

The problem here is that many people’s email programs don’t display special characters correctly, if at all.

The example below shows what an email from Carter’s looks like to a standard recipient; note the problem where the hearts were supposed to be displayed:

The IT trade show CeBIT has been an important platform for several IT companies from around the world for last 27 years. This IT show is organized specially to help companies display their innovations and present new trends in technology. 2014 was another such year for CeBIT that proved to be a common platform for various thought leaders and a great avenue for the industry to showcase several technology solutions, current trends and capture the future inclinations. This year also, CeBIT defined the latest IT trends, presentsed talks by high-calibre speakers and forward-looking panel discussions, and showcases product innovations from all over the world. 

We had a great opportunity to present e-Works on European markets  and made a big number of interesting contacts.

The “French-Armenian Excellence Week” awas supported by a number of French-Armenian organizations, as well as French and Armenian media outlets.

During the evening more than a dozen
photo-3 “French-Armenian Economy Awards” were distributed. Among the guests participating in the evening were Hranush Hakobyan (Minister of Diaspora RA ), Varujan Voskanian (Romania’s Minister of Economy and Commerce), Valérie Boyer (a member of the National Assembly of France) and many other famous people.
